Summary

I did it。 I did it! I'm finally an Arachne! 。。。Aaand things are already going way differently than I thought they would。 I guess I kinda joined up with the Demon Lord? Which means working with, you guessed it, demons。 I mean, I've just casually become traveling companions with the lord of demons and a vampire princess。 I'll worry about that later, though。 It's about time I properly acquainted myself with the world of humans!

Fun and a little less hectic than the others。 I enjoyed that the ending wasn't a crazy huge fight like the past ones。 And the fact that there wasn't a whole bunch of time jumping made the book easier to read。 Fun and a little less hectic than the others。 I enjoyed that the ending wasn't a crazy huge fight like the past ones。 And the fact that there wasn't a whole bunch of time jumping made the book easier to read。 。。。more

I am a huge fan of the manga and the anime。 The only thing I'm peeved about is the fact that the manga has glossed over all of these different POVs to the point where I knew nothing of what was going on when I started reading the light novel where the manga drops off。 I am a huge fan of the manga and the anime。 The only thing I'm peeved about is the fact that the manga has glossed over all of these different POVs to the point where I knew nothing of what was going on when I started reading the light novel where the manga drops off。 。。。more

We’ve reached Volume 6。 Has Okina Baba done it again, or is series fatigue setting in?It’s funny I ask that, because I don’t series fatigue being a thing for this series。 Especially if things continue the way they did in this Volume。 Gone are the future chapters covering what’s happening with the other reincarnations as they’re older。 And while I’m curious to see how things play out in that part of the story, I much prefer focusing on one timeline at a time。 And our spider’s part of the story is We’ve reached Volume 6。 Has Okina Baba done it again, or is series fatigue setting in?It’s funny I ask that, because I don’t series fatigue being a thing for this series。 Especially if things continue the way they did in this Volume。 Gone are the future chapters covering what’s happening with the other reincarnations as they’re older。 And while I’m curious to see how things play out in that part of the story, I much prefer focusing on one timeline at a time。 And our spider’s part of the story is easily the more interesting of the two for me。 But that’s not to say the human side of things isn’t good in it’s own right; I just prefer our spider more。 And she is so cute in this volume! We get to see her develop more as a character and a person (half person?)。 After the events of the last Volume, she’s become an Arachne, a half human-half spider monster, and is traveling with Baby Sophia (who she calls Vampy), the butler/servant Merazophis (Mera for short) and the Demon Lord, Ariel。 She’s named White by the Demon Lord, and now the beast of the future timeline makes more sense。 I always wondered who White was initially and how she was so strong, and now we know for sure。 It’s no wonder, she’s such a force in the humans’ story。 We get to learn more about the Mera and Sophia (that we see in the humans’ story) and it’s a treat。 Not that it’s all slice of life mind you, but a lot of this Volume deals with the internal problems our little group suffers from。 Be it White and the Demon Lord’s relationship, Mera and Sophia’s relationship or any combination。 We learn more about the motivations of these characters, which only works to make me care more about them。 The author does a great job humanizing these monsters, so much so that you can’t help but care about what they’re going through。 Their troubles seem so real, and you want them to resolve them, you want them to come out on top against whatever adversaries they face。 It’s an odd thing, I know: To care about monsters more than humans… While we don’t see what’s happening with the human reincarnations this Volume, we do get to see more of the strongest human mage studying magic under the Parallel Minds White has left in the Labyrinth (and this group’s reaction to him is freaking hilarious!)。 Though, studying is a bit of stretch。 He’s basically witnessing and trying to take part in the hellish training the Parallel Minds are putting their army of spiders through to grow stronger。 I won’t say what the training is, because experiencing it alongside, Ronandt, through his eyes is fun…for the reader at least。I feel like I say this often, but this was the best installment so far。 It just keeps getting better, and seeing things real time, instead of jumping from one timeline to another makes following things much easier。 The chart of events given in Volume 4 puts everything in order, but I like reading just one timeline at a time if possible。 Some of the tension is removed when you know the characters in one timeline make it out of sticky situations because they’re in the future timeline as older versions of themselves, so missing those future segments helped a little when fully immersing myself in the lives of the characters。 I’m not sure how long the future parts will be absent, but at least I was able to enjoy one great Volume without any timeline hopping。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 The unlikely band of the Demon Lord, a humanoid spider, a vampire baby and her butler sets off for the road! What do you mean unlikely? It's just the circumstances kay? With no 'S' chapters, we instead get to see the inner workings of the Demon Lord Ariel and White in action, as well as some major character growth with baby vampire。 Ariel is very interesting in particular。 She, Admin G and the Pontiff carry a heavy burden of the world not known to us yet, but it will be revealed in due time I ho The unlikely band of the Demon Lord, a humanoid spider, a vampire baby and her butler sets off for the road! Keep it goingAnother book down and looking forward to the next one。 It’s funny since my last review was mentioning how fast the author was developing the plot, this book really slowed it down。 Still a fun series。

I really enjoyed this。 Still a lot of fun and really excited that we got a lot more character stuff in this installment。This feels more like a rest and interlude volume as it doesn’t really progress the overall plot as much as previous volumes, but it’s still entertaining and worth it as it progresses the main “bad” characters。

I've decided。 This volume is my new favourite volume。 😂 The first two thirds of the volume is 90% slice of life, the amount of action is scant compared to previous volumes but because of the slow pace and relative lack of exciting scenes, the quality of the character-crafting aspect gets scoped for what it's really worth。 And the result is amazing。I really like all the character POVs through which we readers experience the story。 White's POV of course, but also Ronandt, Dustin, Merazophis, Aurel I've decided。 This volume is my new favourite volume。 😂 The first two thirds of the volume is 90% slice of life, the amount of action is scant compared to previous volumes but because of the slow pace and relative lack of exciting scenes, the quality of the character-crafting aspect gets scoped for what it's really worth。 And the result is amazing。I really like all the character POVs through which we readers experience the story。 White's POV of course, but also Ronandt, Dustin, Merazophis, Aurel, Julius, and Sophia。 Through Sophia's POV, I especially like how we get to discover the complication of the relationship between White and Ariel。 It's a 'frienemy' kind of relationship that I really like, between two characters that I again really like, and observed through another character's POV which means other characters also notice it, that little detail also I like, and stimulated by a third party's direct jabs at the relationship from time to time, giving a broader dynamic to that complicated relationship while also adding a comedic effect。 Basically, I like everything that has to do with the relationship between White and Ariel。 Then there's the dynamic between Sophia and Merazophis, Ariel's with Dustin and Pontifas, Guli-Guli's with Ariel, White and the Puppet Spiders。 Man, basically all the relationships are really interesting。 And we also found out White's drunken behaviour, which is very hilarious。And it's very interesting to sorta be bamboozled by the differences between past-Ariel, the kind Demon Lord, to the rather twisted Demon Lord that she would become when the war start between humans and demons。 It really weirded me out because the transformation feels pretty drastic。 Reading her words and her POV instils in me the feeling that Ariel is a really wise person。 Wise, mature, and admirable。 I'm all attentive now for all hints that could show me the reason for her change in character, or maybe the change is my presumption when the fact is she wouldn't be as bad as I think, in the future。The more I read, the more it stands out to me that my good impression of the author's handling of the characters is truly happening。 The different POVs didn't bore me, and if they did (at times), it's really only because of the personality of the character itself。 And through those POVs, I even became interested to read about the situations that occur but from another character's POV, who is also involved in that situation, because I'm interested in what that character thinks of that particular situation based on their POV that I've previously read。I've no complaints with this volume。 Literally none。 I think it's flawless。 。。。more

OmgI love her new form!!! I love that she gets talkative when drunk。 I do wish she would talk more now and then to make what she says more meaningful tho but i love it!

Lots of new stuff and the start of how to raise your vampire。 The illustration of making Sophia walk is both cute and nightmarish。 The Ronandt chapters and expansion on his story are a great addition。 It also seems like she remains an Arachne for longer than in the web novel (likely due to additional content), where it felt a bit rushed to me。

Last volume had some big revelations so I was worried about this, but this continues to be one of the best light novel series I'm following。 Good。 Powerful。 Funny。 I love these characters a lot。 Last volume had some big revelations so I was worried about this, but this continues to be one of the best light novel series I'm following。 Good。 Powerful。 Funny。 I love these characters a lot。 。。。more

More Spidery GoodnessHonestly, I almost skipped this one; I absolutely hate the Hero and his party, and the constant back and forth time skips, but there's none of that in this volume。Nothing but our spider heroine White, her followers, and the weird geezer。Not much conflict in this one, but a lot of character development for pretty much all of the characters I like。I hope this trend continues in volume seven。 More Spidery GoodnessHonestly, I almost skipped this one; I absolutely hate the Hero and his party, and the constant back and forth time skips, but there's none of that in this volume。Nothing but our spider heroine White, her followers, and the weird geezer。Not much conflict in this one, but a lot of character development for pretty much all of the characters I like。I hope this trend continues in volume seven。 。。。more

Really goodI'm actually pretty happy with this book。 A little less action which I do miss but not bouncing around in the time line is nice。 I liked how the story flowed as well and the hints about the overall story。 Will read the next volume when it comes out。 Really goodI'm actually pretty happy with this book。 A little less action which I do miss but not bouncing around in the time line is nice。 I liked how the story flowed as well and the hints about the overall story。 Will read the next volume when it comes out。 。。。more

Sometimes I wonder why I love this series, I definitely let it get away with things I usually hate。 But, maybe it doesn’t matter why。 This is the first book in the series that doesn’t have Shun’s POV, I was a bit disappointed since last book made me excited for what would happen next, but it’s also understandable if the author wants to have White’s side catch up first。 We did get some creepy old guy pov instead, and I laughed and laughed。 Sophie has some chapters and it was interesting to see ho Sometimes I wonder why I love this series, I definitely let it get away with things I usually hate。 But, maybe it doesn’t matter why。 This is the first book in the series that doesn’t have Shun’s POV, I was a bit disappointed since last book made me excited for what would happen next, but it’s also understandable if the author wants to have White’s side catch up first。 We did get some creepy old guy pov instead, and I laughed and laughed。 Sophie has some chapters and it was interesting to see how different she is from White。 There was also one chapter from Julius’s POV, it’s understandable why, just knowing what happens later I didn’t want to read it。 Julius possesses something Shun doesn’t, doubt。 I just want to hug him and tell him it’s okay to be a child, but even if I did he wouldn’t listen to me。All in all, I enjoyed myself。 Super glad the situation with the parallel minds didn’t get dragged out。 It wasn’t obvious in the previous books since White was on her own and talking to herself basically, but she really does have trouble talking to other people。 Also I laughed a lot at certain moments in the book。 Excited to find out what happens next (can’t wait to learn what’s going on with the orges!), a bit concerned (and okay excited) about Sophie’s and M’s clearly codependent relationship。 。。。more
